while i love all things fancy, elegant, and charming - sometimes I really just want to throw mud. fancy healthy living blogs brookyln twee white linen carefully taken photos lace, skinny legs, tousled hair, sometimes I just want to throw mud onto these things. sometimes I want fat, totally unhealthy, un-charming, stained linen and bad hair cuts.

too perfect, too charming, too much.

it can be very strange sometimes to revisit an old story of your life with someone completely new. every time I recount the steps and heartbreak it took to get me where I am today, I see it once again, fresh and new. the pain has subsided but the memories really rarely fade for me. sometimes I wish I had the gift of being forgetful, that I wasn’t a person built on nostalgia.

“I must see new things and investigate them. I want to taste dark water and see crackling trees and wild winds. I want to gaze with astonishment at mouldy garden fences. I want to experience them all, to hear young birth plantations and trembling leaves, to see light and sun, to enjoy wet green-blue valleys in the evening, to sense goldfish glinting, to see white clouds building up in the sky, to speak to flowers. I want to look intently at grasses and pink people [and] old venerable churches, to know what little cathedrals say, to run without stopping along curving meadowy slopes across vast plains, to kiss the earth and smell soft warm marshland flowers.” —Egon Schiele in a letter to Anton Peschka  (via weissewiese)
